50^TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNO.

Commemorative coin for the 50^th anniversary of the creation of the United Nations Organization (UNO). To commemorate this important event for the Nations, the UNO set up a coins program, in which Argentina participated by minting coins of Gold and Silver in "proof" quality. Although Argentina formed part of both collections, the marketing in the country was done exclusively around the national pieces.
The desire of Argentina to achieve a world in peace is reflected in the design by the artist Carlos P. Rodriguez Dufour, which shows the Argentine National Crest, over which flies a dove, universal symbol of peace.
