IBEROAMERICAN COINS SERIES
This series of coins arose from a joint undertaking between countries of Iberoamerica and
Europe. The aim of this series is to create a permanent link of union and contact, which
may allow the mutual recognition of the cultures, customs and specific characteristics of
each Nation, provided in the designs of the coins.
This Series totals, at this moment, three issues in Silver 925, in each of which have
participated various countries of Iberoamerica, Spain and Portugal. The Series are united
by the motto "MEETING OF TWO WORLDS " and the successive issues each have their
own title. In 1992 the I Serie was issued in Commemoration of
the Vth Centenary of the discovery of America, in 1994 the II Serie
was issued alluding to Native Animals in Danger of Extinction and the IIISerie in allusion to Typical Iberoamerican Dances and Dress, in
1997.
As well as the coins of each country, there are collections of the complete series where
all the pieces can be seen together with a medal integrating the Series.
